Marijuana murder and sex offenders: Winnipeg Canada gone wild!

Where is the justice when violent criminals like a murderer, and 2 violent sex offenders are released from prison into the Winnipeg community all in the span of one week?

Marijuana possession, growing a cannabis plant or two will get you into more trouble than you could imagine.  A criminal record, jail time, house arrest and more is what you can expect from possessing the ganja.

Depends on how much you say?

Well according to this recent report on cannabis law could be 6-9 months… for starters.

Of course it is always up to the judge to determine if you have it for personal consumption or trafficking.

Who is to say how much one consumes is personal or not?
Maybe Joe Blow likes his wake and bake, or maybe he even has some pain or other symptoms that is relieved by smoking an ounce a day. You’re laughing? Well it could very well be…

– alcohol for example, kinda works the same- you know, maybe Joe drinks a keg or 2 a day, and has a few stiff ones before bed…
he can have as much of it as he wants, he can cross the boarder, buy what he wants- duty free or of course pay duty on excessive purchases- basically he can have or buy as much as he wants for his own consumption- or do with it what he pleases…

We might shudder at his consumption…waking up to a few beer, or ten… hard liquor before, during and after work…
- how much alcohol one consumes, purchases or has on hand doesn’t matter either way- its legal, right?

The point is- same goes for the weed as far as what is for personal use, and what is allegedly used for trafficking.

So what- Mary Jane uses it, it’s illegal, whatever… has she killed anyone? Raped anyone? —yes? she has???

Well then…

She should go to jail and stay there, until. UNTIL- ‘until’ being that she (OR HE) is no longer a danger to society.

If this type of criminal is likely to re-offend and a high risk- you just don’t let her or him out. Period. End of discussion.

So why are they (“Winnipeg / Manitoba Justice System”) putting the general public at large in harms way by releasing these convicted high risk offenders like — a murderer, and violent sex offenders???

– it makes no sense that marijuana or cannabis possession is illegal, considered a crime, and that the punishments are as harsh as they are… (yes they are harsh, all things considered)

While violent offenses and violent criminals (link) who hurt other human beings to the extent of what these recent low-lifer’s have done…and are getting away with …is absurd.

– For what these hard-ass criminals have done, they are basically getting a slap on the wrist!

Get educated…

To Mark Gilbert: I was a policeman for 30 years. and talk to any policemen pot is not a factor in impaired driving for most people. The point is if they are impaired charge them. Drowsiness can come from many medications but the effect of pot is the least worriesome to most police officers. If they are showing impairment charge them . Impaired driving is a separate and distinct charge and the breathaloyzer only goes to support the charge and is not the sole evidence to lay a charge of impaired. Over .08% is a separate charge and not impaired driving.
People who don’t smoke it or never have don’t have a clue. You worry about things and make that a reason to criminalize young before they have even done anything except. smoke Lock up the sex offenders, child abusers, and leave peacxeful people alone..

Ya, but how much does it contribute to drowsiness at the wheel, poor judgment, "C"s instead of "A"s, and oh yes, let's not forget the additional monthly expense for all the Visine needed :)
